With every injury, I felt shame, isolation, and frustration with the lack of available resources . None of the typical quick-fix recommendations were working. It wasn’t that the practitioners I was seeing were unskilled, but that I was stuck in a cycle of re-injuring myself anytime I went back to train.
You've been there, right? Eight weeks of physio, you feel great, but the second you step back onto the stage or field, or lift a grocery bag, it’s “Yikes, I'm hurt again!”. There is nothing more defeating than re-injury, and that is exactly what led me to Pilates and brain based movement.
I practice what I preach, and guide others to find safety in the brain so that their body can start to move freely again. Whether you are a dancer, or not, a brain based approach is for everyone.
I believe that any limitation can be overcome, and no movement goal is too ambitious. No matter your age, ability, or physical limitation, you can feel free and empowered in movement!
and to this day continues to inform why, how, and what I teach. My performance career has taken me to stages across North America and Europe, including The Royal Opera of Versailles, The Stratford Festival, and Mirvish Theatre.
Over the last decade, I’ve continued my education in both classical, and rehab-based Pilates, The Franklin Method™, Fascial Movement, Pre-Post Natal Conditioning, Pelvic Floor Fitness and Dance conditioning. Since 2023, I have been studying The 4-Quadrant Stability Model™ with The Neuro Studio, and currently hold a level 3 practitioner qualification.
In addition to coaching dancers and performing artists, I have worked with many pre and postnatal women. I am a mom of three, including twins, and supporting individuals in this stage of life with a brain based movement approach is paramount.
I have worked in various health clinics, dance studios, and Pilates studios over the years, and Movement Arts was born out of a need to make movement even more individualized.
I booked an appointment with her years ago when she began her practice on the advice of a friend who said I would feel more energized and focussed. She was right. I have been working with Lily ever since. She tailors your sessions to both your needs and your goals. The pay off, both physically and mentally are incredible.

and Lily was able to help me correct my pains and instabilities from repetitive holding patterns while treating. She gave me fantastic cues that I have been able to apply to my practice to self correct when I feel myself slipping into old habits. My time with Lily was invaluable and I cannot recommend her highly enough!
